Why scalp care is planned as a course - and how to judge whether it is working
If you have been quoted a course of scalp sessions rather than a single appointment, that is not an upsell structure. It is an honest way to work with skin that changes slowly - and it changes what "is this working?" should even mean.
A single session is not a fair test
The scalp is skin, and skin responds to care gradually rather than all at once. That is why our scalp treatment is designed as a planned series of sessions rather than one visit. A course gives the scalp a planned series of sessions over time, which is how the treatment is designed to work.
The practical consequence: judging the treatment after one session is judging it before it has had the chance to do anything. If you are going to assess it, assess it across the course.
What you are actually watching for
Here is where expectations and reality usually part ways. Most people picture "supporting the appearance of thinning hair" as new hair appearing. That is not what this is.
What we focus on is narrower and more honest:
- the overall condition and comfort of the scalp - the environment where hair grows
- the appearance of thinning or finer-looking hair over the course
So the useful things to notice are scalp-level, not strand-level. Does the scalp feel more comfortable? Is its condition better than when you started? Those are the observations worth tracking between sessions, and they are the ones Brenda will ask you about.
A simple way to track them: note the same three things before your first session, at the midpoint, and at the end of the course - how the scalp feels day to day, how it looks at the parting, and whether comfort has changed. Same light, same mirror, a line in your phone each time. That gives the end-of-course conversation something real to work with.
Where the treatment fits
Our scalp and hair-loss treatment is needle-free: mesotherapy with electroporation carries a scalp serum through the surface of the skin using gentle electrical pulses, with no injection and no needle at any point. Guide price is $360 per session.
What it is not
It is not a cure for hair loss, and it does not regrow hair. Brenda says this in person, before you begin - after more than 25 years caring for skin in Perth, she would rather set the frame properly than let you measure a course against a result it was never going to deliver.
If you would like an honest read on whether a course suits your scalp, book a consultation with Brenda in Crawley first.
